The fox

Ranil Wickremesinghe's experience in senior gvernment position has earned him the nick name fox. 

He has recently negotiated with IMF and enjoys working relationship with India, a donor country. 

Wickremesinghe has secured the backing of many, in the Sri Lankan Podujana Peramuna, a party that is dominated by the Rajapaksa family.

Unique histories, unique identities

Bengaluru has people of many languages.

The woman who comes to clean our house is illiterate.
But she speaks fluently in four languages - Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Hindi - and also understands Malayalam.

I don't think there are many north Indians - even literate ones - who have this diversity in their cities.

We Bangaloreans are proud of this fact.
There is great tolerance in this city.
There is no wrong in celebrating our city, our state.

Opposition to the idea of a state flag comes from small-minded pseudo-nationalists - the ones pushing Hindi - Hindu - Hindustan.
Who identify the federation as a one-language, one-religion nation.

Idea of state identity is quite common - all American states have their own flags.
All our states have unique histories and unique identities.
They are not in contradiction - and there is no need for them to be suppressed.
